Public Liability Insurance is a type of cover that is mainly used by tradesman so that they can be covered for most eventualities that will occur throughout the work that they undertake. The insurance will cover them from any occasion where they may unwillingly cause third party property damage or third party injury to anyone whilst they were working.
For someone that works with Double Glazing they may want this type of insurance so that throughout the course of their work they will be covered for example if they were to knock over a vase or an expensive ornament when they were in the property then they would obviously have to pay for the repair or the cost of replacing it and that is where the insurance would come in. There are three levels of cover that you can get when you take out public liability insurance, the basic is one million pounds of cover but you can also get quotes and policies at two million and five million pounds of cover. Obviously these levels are the amount that the insurance company will pay up to should there be any claims made on the insurance which is why most people will go for the one million cover on their policy unless specifically requested to go higher for a job.
For one million pounds cover then the prices can generally start from around £65 for a year’s policy however if you wanted the higher cover or any of the other things that you can add onto the insurance policy then you will of course be looking at paying a higher premium.
